Diet Dates, Debrief Lunch, and Movie Night

The week that our team is doing the rice and beans diet will be September 15 through 21, 2013. [UPDATE: a few of us have decided to postpone the start to Monday, September 16 and complete it the following Sunday. Really, you can do this whenever you want, but it helps to have friends and family to go through the week together!]

If you really would like to participate but your schedule won't permit it, or if you are reading this blog AFTER the fundraiser, that's OK! You can still contribute, or do the diet during another time period. But please let us know (leave a comment or shoot us an email), so we can encourage you too!

We are also having two great events book-ending the week, detailed on our fundraising site:

• Sunday, September 15 at 1:30 PM: 2013 Global Engagement Trip Debrief Lunch. Bishop O'Connell High School Cafeteria. Rice and beans will be served (and other food options will also be provided). Location: 6600 Little Falls Road, Arlington, VA 22213.

• Saturday, September 21: Screen on the Nica Green. Description from the website:
  "TFCA Global Outreach proudly presents Verbo Bluefields – a short film about the depth of Jesus’ love for his people and the transforming power of the Gospel in action. Over the past 5 years, TFCA has developed relationships in the small town of Bluefields, Nicaragua with ORPHANetwork, Pastor Ed Jaentschke and his congregation at VERBO Iglesia. We want to share with you the story of Ed’s call to serve the least of these, the orphan and the widow, and his congregation’s commitment to serving their community. The ORPHANetwork Feeding Center is housed at the church and managed by parishioners who prepare and serve a nutritious meal to 200 kids every day.
